Piazza Colonna, Rome

Piazza Colonna

Rome, Italy

The Marco Aurelio Column. At the top of the column sits a Saint Peter Sculpture --an idea of Sixtus V. The column, very similar to the Traian one, was built in the years 176-193 to commemorate the victories of this Emperor against the Germans and Sarmaths.
